Shyamchand Mukharjee Durgamela : Shyamchand Mukharjee Durgamela is about 130 years
old. The Durgamela is familiar in our locality. Once it had unique activities
specially on ‘Dashami’ day comparing Other melas. On that day they used to
prepare journey of ‘Nabapatrika’ the Goddess Durga separately on their schedule
time at about 9.00 am to 10.00 am every year along with fish,butter, the pot
with ‘murki’ (parched paddy coated with boiled sugar or molasses), new clothes
of share,Dhuti accompanying 10-12 drummers. That was very attractive child to
old age people in all categories. Five years passed they had lost its unique
separation by the burden of comparable budget. Nothing to say the Goddess of
Durga worship depend only their family income. Generated system is not avail
them to continue comparing present day high price budget. Word of Head and
temple organizer Shyam chand Mukharjee. As per his word average puja budget is
40-45 thousand and it fully depend on his yearly family income. He has no
movable or immoval property for puja purpose. He deeply thinks about the future
of this puja (the deity of the Goddess Durga temple worship).
They
follow the rituals and time table of Patharmhra Durgamela. They jointly
participate with other ‘dolas’ on the
‘coming’ and ‘immersion’ days of ‘Nabapatrika’ the deity of the Goddess of
Durga, ‘Saptami’ and ‘Dashami’ respectively. Goat is not immolated there n the
day of Astami and Nabami. Only sugarcane,Pumpkin,cucumber,Ratan (large sweet)
