Gor Patharmohra Durgapuja : (Maa-Naa Baninath)From the beginning of the king Mukunda Narayan Dev,Patharmohra Durga worship has been performing.He was the first king of the Gor Patharmohra Raj state.He had come from the Mankar region of district Burdwan in West Bengal more than three hundred years ago. On that time contemporary the Goddess Durga worship was done at Manbazar Roy Durga temple.Both the temple were the first Durga worship place in our earlier history. Twelve Durga worship place including two Sarvajanin and ten family puja have been accomplishing in our Manbazar locality every year present time. Remembrance that during the Goddess Durga worship from ‘sasthi’(6^th day from new moon) to ‘Dashami’(10^th day from new moon) all worship center of Manbazar and near locality follow the rituals and time table of Gor Patharmohra king’s Durga temple.In consultation with all worship temple organizers take decision of worship time schedule on the basis of astronomy book before the beginning of the puja (worship) every year and follow the sound of ‘Top’ (it is made by explosive materials, bursting makes high frequency sound) some juncture time of worship activities.

Attraction : On ‘Saptami’ and ‘Dashami’ both days are very attractive, all eight ‘Nabapatrikas’ the Goddess of Durga’s ‘Dola’ are jointly go, perform their activities in a similar row with drummers , bombs, sounds along with massive gathering of peoples to the Manbazar Gopal shayer near Chakraborty Durgamela for the purpose of the Goddess Durga’s Nabapatrika ‘Agamani’(awakening/bath) and ‘Bisarjan’(immersion) .

All categories from child to age old are present the destination ,listion the Chandi mantras ,take participate with worship and at the end hearing the sound of ‘Top’ they come back to the home. It is not only attractive to us ,but unique in the world hindu culture.You will not find it in anywhere except Manbazar. Many people come here for such type of enjoyment every year.After ‘Bisarjan’(immersion) of the Goddess Durga on ‘Bijoya’(10^th day of worship) returning home they hug to each other and take sweet from one another, meet with neighbor family, relatives, friends etc.

Unique activities : Although Gor Patharmohra king’s family Durga worship temple is the founder of Manbazar Durgapuja, hence they should have to do few extra worship rituals than other worship center. There worship is completed by 17 days others are only 5 days. There the Goddess Durga worship is started on 9^th day of ‘Pitripaksha’(the full moon) and end on 10^th day of Bijoya Dashami ‘Devipaksha’(the new moon).On the night of ‘Jitasthami’ ‘Hom’(an oblation of fire into which ghee is poured) and ‘Budhan’(ceremonial awakening of Goddess Durga) are to be apparent in the Durga temple and a lamp of ghee is being flamed till the night of Bijoya Dashami.’Gangapot’ with the sword of Balaram from Thakurbari(Balaram Mandir) and Rajlakshmi from ‘Rajbari’ (king’s home place) are taken and placed at the Durga mandir on ‘Nabami tithi’.The worship greetings,Chandipath(mantras recition),sweet distribution(worship gifts) are being done there time to time regularly from the establishment of the deity of Goddess there. ‘Maan Chaturthi’ after Mahalaya ‘Brath’( vow) is obeyed. That mean a ‘Chaturthapatrika’ is made of ‘Maan’(arum leaf),’paddy’ ,’Bel’(the wood apple) and ‘Dalim’(pomegranate).A new ‘Jagar’(ghee lamp) is flamed, sugarcane is sacrificed in the name of Goddess Durga worship is arranged in ‘sixteen upachar’(way of 16 worship process) till the end of ‘Panchami’ before night it is immersed and the very next day is ‘Sasthi’, commonly we know this day as the ‘Bellibaran’ day of the Goddess Durgapuja.All other worship places are started their worship from this day.

Nabapatrika journey : Eight worship center’s ‘Nabapatrika Dola’ perform their journy jointly on the stipulated days ‘Nabami’ and ‘Dashami’.They follow one another as per order first Patharmohra king’s Dola next Dutta Durgamela,Kundu Durgamela,Shyamthakur Durgamela,Moira Durgamela,Roy Durgamela,Mukharjee Durgamela and Chakarborty Durgamela one after another.By the word of the king’s inheritor Debasis Narayan Dev total 360 mouza follow their worship rituals and time schedule ,He is the main organizer of the patharmohra Durga temple.

Digbijoya : Another attractive part of Gor Patharmohra king’s family Durga worship is ‘Digbijoya’ function, locally called ‘Dig bindha’.It is done near the poond ‘Shyapukur’ one kilometer distance from Rajbari. There is made temporarily a cottage of straws and used seven times arrows targeting it.At the end of this function the cottage is destroyed by fire.From that place they go to ‘Maa Talbasini temple’ .It is exist at Manbazar Hattola (the old residential place of king) .There worship is done with the immolation of he-goat.Returning back to the Patharmohra king’s Durga temple,there arranged ‘Subhapunnyakaran’ worship,after it all pots of ‘Budhan’ are immersed and declare end of the Durga festival.

King’s family Durga worship money : A few money is provided by the Govt.of West Bengal for the purpose of reminiscent of earlier kingdom Durga worship.It is limited not more than Rs.1084/-.In formation from the king’s inheritor Debasis Narayan Dev.It is also recorded that passed three years they hadn’t get any money from the source.But hope,they will get it near future,processing is going on.
