Pirargoria Sarvajanin Durgapuja

Prargoria village is located at Dhanara Anchal of Manbazar-1 Block. Most of people reside here are cast in Mondal of General category. They have no old age heritage of the worship of deity Durga. This year 2015, all the residents  of this area had settled  to prepare Durgapuja  jointly  and formed  a forty (40) members  committee  among them President-Nilmadhab Mondal, Secretary- Biplab Kumar Mondal and joint cashier- Partha Mondal and Pranab Kumar Mondaol.

Source of fund:  In the time of inception of this worship they have no immovable property for this purpose, they have collected money from all the villagers and donation from members with their will and capability. Budget is more than two lakh.

Place: They hadn’t made Durga temple in short time, so prepared pandel puja  on the south bank of Pirargoria Barabandh, west side of  Kalimela and Pirargoria Primary School, east side of Shibmandir ( more than 90 yrs old ). Basically the place is smashankali from the time of Suchand Mondal.

Rituals: Worship of the Deity of Goddes Durga is followed the time table of Rajbari Gor Patharmohra,Manbazar.Main priest Pradyut Chakraborty  comes from Kankrajhor and his assistant Raghunath Ganguly from Ambikanagar. Deity of Goddes Durga has been made by Satyaban Sing of Dhagora. Drum (Dhaak) from Chepua. No living animals are sacrificed here during puja scheduled except rice,cucumber,sugar cane etc.

Two days cultural function and one day Baul Sangeet has been arranged of three days worship in this year 2015. Pupils of near localities gathered here during these days from after noon to 10.00 pm every day.

Jharbagda Dewanghar Durga Pratima 2014

Jharbagda Durgapuja: Jharbagda village is situated West side of Manbazar approximate 3 k.m away from Manbazaer town on the northern side of Manbazar –Barabazar road. I t is very old village near locality of Manbazar. Highly educated village most of the people are Hindu upper cast of Mahanty and Mahapatra locally call ‘Utcal Sampradai’.Many of them work in different foreign country.

It is colloquial that , during the time ,the king of Gor Patharmohra who had come from Burdwan first time about more than 300 years ago; they also come along with the king and other colleagues. They become the ‘Dewan of Manbazar king’ on that time.

Worship of deity of the Goddess Durga at Jharbagda

Once ,Harihar Mahanty ,the resident of Jharbagda Namopara had dreamed ,they should performed the worship of Goddess

Dewan Ghar Durga mandir

Durga at their place;hence they started Durga worship by the leadership of ‘Dewan’ families’ Subal Mahanty father of Jagannath Mahanty approx 200 years ago. Who had got the message of worship did not belong to the family of ‘Dewan’,so he followed worship through ‘Ghat’,i.e ‘Nabapatrika’ and his hirers follow the same rituals till now during the worship of deity of the Goddess Durga every year. 

First Durga temple was made by the ‘Dewan’ family of Jharbagda, now it is called Dewan Ghar Durgamela. At present 25 families and ancestors arranged this worship every year. They have a pond of 100 bigha in the name of Goddess Durga, which the main source of their family worship.

The pond is located at Amjora village near Jamtoria under Manbazar-II block.At present they got rupees sixty five thousands from it and used full amount for the purpose of worship of the deity of the Goddess Durga. No extra money is collected from the family members for the worship.

The icon of deity of Goddess Durga is made by Jiten Rakshit and their family member ,village Illujargo,Jhalda from the earlier time.

Whole worship is performed by priest Panchanan Pathak and their family,village Gilirbanjora,Jorda/Shaldiha every year. Dhak (drum) comes from Chepua from earlier time ritually.

This is 111-120 years old Durga worship place, situated at the Jharbagda Uparpara .Once four brothers Mukunda Mahanty,Baikuntha Mahanty,Brajalal Mahanty and younger brother Dariknath Mahanty son of Bangshidhar Mahanty jointly started this worship.

Baraghar DURGA CAMPUS 

It has been inherited by their families as a family Durga puja since then.At present their 19 families arranged whole worship by their donation.They have no immovable properties in the name of Goddess Durga,only depend on their self donations.

In this year Puja cost is approximate 35-40 thousands. This year a cultural function has been planned on the day of Vijoya Dashami.

This is more than 130 to 135 years old deity of the Goddess Durga worship place.It is family worship.Sadananda Mahanty father of Srinath and Sitanat Mahanty had started this worship earlier time. Shayamaparashad Mahanty,Joytindranath Mahanty,Banamali Mahanty,Baridbaran Maanty and Gosthabihari Mahanty are the five son of Srinath Mahanty.Sililarly Trailaksha Mahanty,Hansadhaj Mahanty and Hemchandra Mahanty are the three son of Sitanath Mahanty and their family members are arranged worship of the Goddess Durga every year by their self donation and the income of immovable properties which are all in the name of Goddess Durga.

 A pond and 8 bigha cultivation land in the name of Goddess Durga is the main source of this durga temple.They got 25-30 thousands rupees from their properties at present rate every year.In this year puja cost is approximate 45-50 thousands.

The Durga icon is made by Surendranath Pal and his family member from the earlier time.

Dhak (drum) comes from Chepua ritually.

Gunsaidih Durga Pratima 2014

Gunshaidih Sarvajanin Durgapuja:Gunshaidih Sarvajanin Durga Puja has been performed since 2007 by the family head Joydev Goswami,Biswarup Goswami and Ananda Goswami. They are the main organizer and inaugurators of this  Gunshaidih Durga worship.

There has no temple for the deity of the Durga,it will be made near future by their own collection and help of villagers within the Vishnu Temple campus west side.

They have made a tent with well decoration and prepared the deity of the Goddess Durga there by the priest Baniprasad Mukhopadhaya,village Puara,P.O-Bangla in the district Bankura and his assistant Gobordhan Mukhopadhaya,village Baga,Shaldiha/Bankura.

There are only eight Gunshai familes in this village;

their donation of the Puja purpose is the main source of this worship. Willing villagers also donate to assist this deity of the Goddess Durga worship by their self donation. Approximately 60-70 thousands rupees is cost there every year during this entire Durga worship days.
Worship rituals are followed from Patharmohra King’s family worship. On the juncture time of  Mahasthami Cucumber, Sugarcanes are immolated there .No he goats are allowed there for immolation.

Talandara village is situated on the north bank of Kansai river between Budhpur Pairachali road under the P.S-Puncha.Village is old ,60-70 families reside here among most of them are scheduled cast in Bauri category.

It is also strange, the Bauri society follow the worship of Goddess Durga like upper cast of Hindu society every year and is also known the yearly great festival of them.

There is a colloquial fact to in vogue with this festival among them.

Nimtola pukur remote view

On the beginning  time of Manbazar kingdom, Golam Bauri predecessor of Kunjo Bauri who was the first generation Chandra village came with king from Burdwan. The king settled to live at Manbazar through Budhpur and near surrounding of Jamtoria village. Golam Bauri had get the mouza Talandara from the king.

The king of Gor Patharmohra used to get ghee and he-goat during the Durgapuja festival every year from Golam Bauri and their inheritors.

Nimtola pukur

Once, on the time of Durga festival, Kansai river was flooded with water,they couldn’t reached to deliver their conditional worship gifts to the king. So that,with these worship materials, they started to worship the deity of the Goddess Durga by their selves getting permission from the king 5^th Harinarayan Dev. It is the history of inception of the deity of the Goddess Durga at Talandara mouza. This worship has been performing every year in the  same way by their successors till now.

It is the great festival among them. At present 60 families follow this worship by providing their donations. They have no immovable property For the purpose of festival and in the name of Goddess Durga.

On the beginning time of worship ,it had been performed on the west bank of ‘Nimtola Pukur pard’ .

Talandara Durga Temple

The inheritor Kunjobihari Bauri had donated three decimal land to make the deity of the Goddess Durga temple more than hundred years ago. So the worship is being done  at this new place from then.

Worship Rituals:  They follow the worship rituals of Manbazar Gor Patharmohra King’s schedule. On the day of Mahasthami they raise ‘Nabapatrika’ by ‘Bari’ earlier time and start their worship from that time instead of Mahasaptami like other Hindu upper cast social rituals.

The ‘Nabapatrika’ immersion is done on the day of ‘Dashami immersion time’ like others. Mahasthami worship and immolation is occurred following the sound of Gar Patharmohra ‘Topdhoni’.

On the day of Mahasthami a he-goat is sacrificed with three sugarcane and a cucumber by committee. There are average 25-30 he-goats immolated on the day of Nabami by the people for there pledge and promises in the name of Goddess Durga every year.

The worship cost is near about Rupees 15000/- to 20000/- at present rate. Icon of the deity of Durga might be arranged  by any one for their devotion to the Durga. Pandel is free ritually from the neighbours.

The main priest of this worship is Gunadhar Das and their family ,village Pairachali,P.O-Puncha.

Every year they arranged Harinam on the day of Asthami.

Mahalaya Tarpan : Manbazar Kelaipukur Tarpan 2014 at 09:45 – 10:20 am attendants are Chitta Dutta,Ranjit Dutta,Bablu Dutta,Sadhan Kundu,Swapan Kundu,Babulal Kundu,Hariram Kundu,Shakti Kundu,Swapan Mitra,Durgacharan Das,Amarendra Das,Manas Das,Dukshabhanjan Nag,Ajit Modak,Amiya Barat,Jagannath Mahinder, and Khakan Sarkar.

Madhupur village is situated in the South West from Manbazar busy twon ,distance approximate two K.M from Manbazar post office mord. The remote village is very old.Sen Ghose and upper cast of Brahmin families are reside here.
The Deity of the Goddess Durga worship has been started here

more than 300 years ago contemporary to the king Gor Patharmohra. Ghopse family is the founder of the worship of Goddess Durga in this village it is true and the founder is Ramprasad Ghose, main organizer  were his brothers and all.

Rituals: Ghose family Durgapuja  is done by their own contribution and source of immovable property pond etc in the name of Durgamela. They follow the king's time table of worship from beginning to end.

Kumari Puja (unmarried girl of 9-10yrs) is done here which is exceptional near our locality. A real girl is dressed like Durga from the day of Saptami and worshiped till the day of Vijoya Dashami. She is relief from worship on the early morning before Nabapatrika immersion. 

He goat,sugar cane,pumpkin are sacrificed on the day of Mahastami. About 18-20 he goats are sacrificed every year in this time  from the Ghose family of all in addition to other conditional immolation promises.

It is also called Shib-Durgamela,both worship are done in the same premises of this temple.Shib worship is the everyday ritual works.Kai and Durga worship

is jointly performed here on the New Moon Day(Amabashya) of Kalipuja every year which is unique except Kashi. Ghose and Sen Durga worship is performing in this village from their beginning continuously  and only two Durga worship temples are the main worship places

in this village,distance between two places are approx 100 yards. During the four day’s ritual works both worship places organizer exchange their puja gifts between the two places the Deity of the Goddess Durga’s honoure.

   

 

During this worship period they had a ritual of to arrange lunch for all people on the day of Nabami (9^th day of lunar fortnight) every year till the time of Hirulal Ghose. It has been stopped now due to lake of funding ,interest etc.

 

Present time, the worship work is being accomplished under the main priest Surendranath Chatterjee, the ancestor of Gobinda Purohit.The deity of the Goddess icon is made by the resident of 

Sahapur family in the district Bankura every year from a same family from the time of beginning. Similarly band party come from Ambikanagar in the district Bankura from a same group of family every year from the beginning.
