Indkuri Savajanin Durgapuja 2014: Theme Khajurah Shib pattern,Madhaya Pradesh.Artist name is Tapan Kalindih resident of Sahajuri village,Ludhurka/Puncha. Pandel is made by Bishwarup Mahato (Mahato Decoraters) resident of Sijadih,Purulia.Worship is being performed by the priest Swapan Chakraborty,Manbazar Namopara instead of Tarun Bandopadhya;permanent priest who’s father had died this year.

This year new attraction is Mina bazaar. An amusement team from Midnapur has come for a few days based on this Indkuri Sarvajanin Durgapuja worship area.Mina bazaar has settled at the east side of this worship centre. Few stall has arranged there.Children and people gather there every day afternoon to at about 9.00 pm for their personal entertainment.

INDKURI SOLOANA DURGAPUJA:Indkuri Soloana Durgapuja is one of the new temporary durga temple near our locality.The daity of Goddess Durga temple is arranged near the north side of new Indkuri adjacent to the telephone office BSNL Manbazar. This puja has been performing here since 2008 as a ‘Sarbajanin Durgapuja” ( for all people) making no break,it is continued at the same place every year.

This puja (worship) is organized by by a committee named “Indkuri Soloana Durgapuja Committee”. They have no immovable property for puja purpose. Collection made from each family of their locality. Although most of the people reside under poverty line,they are too enthusiastic and eagerious for this Durgapuja and many of them donate more money for puja purpose as far as possible .

Before this Durgapuja there were only Kalipuja every year .People of this area get much pleasure during this puja ,hence they feel to decide another festival of Durgapuja. Their interest, encouragement, came into the new light of Indkuri Durgapuja.

Worship rituals :Indkuri Durgapuja follows the ritual and time schedule of Gor Patharmohra Durga temple.Nabapatrika ‘Agaman’ (come) and ‘Bisarjan’(immersion) at Mallapukur seperatly on these stipulated days ‘Saptami’(7^th day) and ‘Dashami’(10^th day). 10^th day’s Bisarjan (immersion) is done noon at about 12.00 pm,which is new to them.

Astami worship is depend on Patharmohra Rajparibar (king’s family worship),at the juncture time a high frequency sound is made using explosive materials (localy called ‘Gethiya’,or ‘Bomb’) and all the Durga temple of 360 ‘Mouza’ who heard the sound of it started to Astami worship with immolation of animal or fruits, vegetables, sweets etc. Every year on the day of Astami and Nabami pumpkin, cucumber, sugar cain , sweets are immolated here.No he-goat is sacrificed and allowed.

Attraction : On the Nabami (9^th day of worship) ‘Mahaprasad Bitaran’ (cooked food serve to all) is done here from evening to mid-night.On the day of Dashami (10^th day) a cultural program is organized here by the puja (worship) committee. All are allowed to participate there in different fields of enjoyment activities, like dance, songs, modern song, go as you like, recitation etc.

Target: On both days Astami and Nabami ,the Goddess Durga temple is crowded in addition to them by the people of Birsingdih,Ghagra,Putkadih,Patharkata,Madhabpur,Samda,Burisahar,Kamalpur,Bankata the neighbor localities come there during puja days and participate with their worship, rituals. Villagers not only follow Indkuri Durga temple,they also get pleasure and share their enjoyment visiting near town Manbazar during these days.
2012 : This year 2012 the Indkuri Soloana Durga worship is going on by the side of existing pandel. No icon of the deity of the Goddess Durga is used for the worship purpose. Only 'Pot' (soil made) worship is going there. In the inner portion of the pandel, there is an icon of the Goddess Durga but no worship is done there. In the pandel campus a few policeman are watching.
