The deity of the Goddess Durga 2012
Manbazar Chakraborty Durgamela : Most of the families of Manbazar Namopara are
basically classified in three main categories Ror,Chakraborty and Mukharjee. It
is easy to say the deity of the Goddess Durga has been turned in to position by
their category.In earlier time Roy temple,then Chakraborty and Mukharjee
gradually.
Very old time the king of Patharmohra reside at Manbazar.
Their residential place was Manbazar Hattola and surrounding area where
Chakraborty families are reside at present. Locally say the ‘Khirkipukur’
(pond) behind and opposite side of the home Ashok Chowdhury was the result of
the king’s time when they had used there soil for making muddy building of king’s
place. By the side of this habitation there is Gopal sayer, the queens were
bath here. The beginning time of the Durga worship by king at Manbazar , the ‘Nabapatrika’
of the Goddes Durga was awakened and immersed at Gopal Sayer on that time.
Hence present time the king’s family maintained their same tradition every year
following ‘awakening ‘ and ‘immersion’ of ‘Nabapatrika’ at Gopal sayer every.
On the day of ‘Astami’ goat is not immolated here.’ Pumpkin’,
‘sugarcane’ are sacrificed on both the days ‘Astami’ and ‘Nabami’.
Working main priest of this temple is Gurupada
Chakraborty and assists him any one from their family.
